Big chance that you will have never heard of.
No shame in this, because of the Scootacar were between 1957 and 1964 only 1,500 copies produced. Above we see the first generation of the car.
The British brand Scootacars was in the hands of a locomotiefbouwer and designed, this 1-door two-seater in command of the wife of the owner. That took her Jaguar to difficult to park and was looking for something smaller dog.
The designer, Henry Brown took the message quite literally. The microcar is a small 2 feet long and one and a half metres high. Sitting next to each other is not there, due to the limited width of only 1.3 meters, the chairs behind each other. The thing was with its compact size, also called the ‘phone booth’.
The bodywork is made from fiberglass and that makes the cute little cart is only 263 kg. Powered by a 200 CC single-cylinder two-stroke engine with 8.5 hp gives a top speed of 80 km/h. The motor is via a chain connected to the rear wheel. Send do you do with a simple handlebar.
This purple copy from 1959, was spotted by Jeroen797. The trolley participated in the Millrace of Goes. Check it out on autojunk.nl
