It is no secret that Lancia’s best days are far behind us. The classics of the Italian brand will remain in the meantime without prejudice popular, and so it proved again at the auction held by RM Auctions in Monaco.
Lancia Flaminia Sport – 510,000 euros
This Lancia Flaminia Sport from 1959 set a world record in Monaco. Advance convert the connoisseurs at a sale price between 325.000 and 400,000 euros, but the new owner eventually had less than 510,000 euros changed hands for this classic. Not so crazy, as it is one of the most iconic Lancia’s ever been.
The brand was after the successful post-war years, a slight dip in the mid-fifties. The Flaminia was the successor of the very successful Aurelia and blew the brand new life. In 1958 followed the Flaminia Sport with a shorter wheelbase, built by Zagato. The auctioned model is one of the rarest, as there is a first series of closed-headlights only 99 made.
Lancia Aurelia B24S Spider America – 700.000 euro
The Lancia Aurelia was Lancia’s first post-war car and gave the brand a flying start. It was a pioneering model, with a V6-productiemotor under the hood. The Aurelia B24S Spider America was the two-seater cabriolet by Pinin Farina, that Lancia also in the United States had to launch as the brand. The auctioned model is not unknown among connoisseurs, because this Spider America was a long time property of Maurizio Pini, a well-known Italian researcher. The Aurelia wanted to continue, which is evident from the revenue of the auction: 700.000 euro.
Lancia D50A Replica – 725.000 euros
Without this Lancia D50A had Ferrari may never have the most successful Formula 1 team ever. Lancia put the D50A for the first time during the Grand Prix of Spain in 1954, where Alberto Ascari a second faster qualifying than Juan Manuel Fangio in the legendary Mercedes-Benz W196.
