The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) is an investigation as a result of recent fires at, among others, the Lamborghini Aventador.
The organization wants to know why the V12 model of Lamborghini repeatedly in the fire flies, according to German media. Not only does the Aventador will be examined. The complete line-up of Lamborghini will inside out be-absorbed by the body. In a aangebrande (har har) response denies the Italian brand that models a design flaw. If the KBA, however, that conclusion will draw, should be a future recall one of the possibilities.
In september 2012, Lamborghini already had a recall done. Gallardo’s from 2004, 2005 and 2006, had to return to the garage because of potential fire hazard. The Aventador, now almost five years on the market, is also not unscathed from the battle came. So is even the standard exhaust to flames to produce, provided that this significantly on temperature. There is always a risk that this may backfire, or may cause damage to the surrounding components. The 700 bhp strong monster has, after all, a relatively short distance between the parts of the tank and the exhaust system.
The past few months, we were twice surprised by a video of a flaming Aventador. Both times, I went into the flames first to the linkerachterzijde of the supercar. For now it is wait and see what the KBA know to discover as a result of the research.
