The widow of Roger Rodas (the man behind the wheel in the fatal crash in which he and Paul Walker died) are suing Porsche because they are of the opinion that defects and designfouten on the Carrera GT the fatal accident have caused.
Kristine Rodas claims that the Carrera GT is an unsafe car is due to errors in the design, parts, testing and the manufacture of the car. A quote from the indictment reads “blames Porsche for the car exploding on impact” in which she observes that the car is not a “crash cage” and “racing fuel cell”. This quote is in conflict with the messages that the car only after a minute in fire. A racetank is a provision which anyway is not required for street-legal car.
By these “defects” would be the Carrera GT is not safe in use. There is no amount specified in the indictment and will probably be a very long trial with a lot of trouble about the crash man will go.
Earlier investigation into the crash showed that “Speed, and speed alone” was the reason that the crash had taken place. There were right after the crash, rumors about a technical defect, but those were quickly quashed. Rodas drove far too fast on old rubber, case closed you would think.
That mrs. Rodas amends are looking for, we understand all too well, but whether this is the way to go is, we ask ourselves. A Porsche Carrera GT is as dangerous as the driver let him, after all. Kristine explains that Rodas not harden over 55 mp/h (89 km/h) driving while the investigation into the crash has shown that the speed at the time of the crash between 80 and 93 mp/h (129 to 150 km/h). But well, it keeps America so as long as there is no decision of the court is that we can keep it just possible that mrs. Rodas, here are a few millions out of drag.
