The inverted story we know, so why now this twist?

They did not take our jobs! At least, the robots are not of us, people. This time is it the other way round; Mercedes sends robots right to the BODY and replaces it with people. How about that?

What is clear, mr Robot can not deal with all the different options that customers can tick on the spec sheet of their brand-new S-Class. That is, in any case, the opinion of the head of production at Mercedes, Markus Schäfer:

“Robots can’t deal with the degree of individualization and the many variants that we have today. The variety is too much to take on for the machines. They can’t work with all the different options and keep pace with changes.”

In other words, faced with all the different options, the robots weird repetitive movements while they ‘does not compute’ lather, rinse, repeat, and eventually there will be smoke. Something I imagine in any case.

However, it is not all bad news for the ‘job prospects’ of robots at Mercedes. Like other brands such as BMW and Volkswagen works Mercedes on robots that are so loaded down with sensors that they are working with people in the workplace can work, without that such a robot with a bulky metal gripper arm of a person against his/her harses with ease.

In the meantime, may we the people won this battle celebrate, although we the war, of course, going to lose.
