2016 MWC: Samsung announces the Exynos 7 Octa processor for smartphones 7870 intermediate level

At MWC 2016, which takes place in Barcelona from 22 to 25 February 2016, the company Samsung Electronics has introduced a system-on-chip Exynos line for smartphones average level — 7 Octa 7870.

The processor is created using 14-nanometer manufacturing process FinFET. It is equipped with eight cores Cortex-A53 with a frequency of 1.6 GHz and a modem LTE Cat.6 2CA downloading speed data up to 300 Mbit/s, the aggregation function FDD-TDD. The chip is capable of playing Full HD 1080p video at 60 frames per second and supports displays with a resolution of WUXGA (1920×1200 pixels). The GPU ISP will cope with photo resolution up to 16 MP with main or front camera and 8 MP in the shooting mode two cameras simultaneously.

Samsung plans to begin mass production of Exynos 7 Octa processor 7870 in the first quarter of 2016.
