Toyota Hybrid-R Concept: Yaris on Viagra [400+ hp]

It is as if the devil there to play: after the (somewhat predictable) rant of yours earlier today, Toyota suddenly with a 400+ hp Yaris hybrid on the come up. They call him Hybrid-R, we call him ‘viYagra’.

Currently we have only a teaser which is not called by name, but our Chef Coloring page, Ricardo, (seen here after the end of the last autoblog-drink), made him a little lighter. Et voila: there is suddenly a 400 hp Yaris Hybrid with elements from the powertrain of the TS030 Le Mans racer.

Yes, of course, it is a concept that we never with 400 hp on the road are going to see, but it seems that Toyota tries to do his dusty hybrid image to Polish. And not only hybrid, in Japan they introduced this week (after a previous draft version) the Vitz (Yaris) GRMN Turbo with 152 hp and 206 Nm. It is still the largest manufacturer in the world.

The Hybrid-R will debut the next month at the IAA, further details to follow.

Update: More info on this Yaris pr0nproject. The drivetrain consists of a Toyota Motorsport-developed 1.6 ‘racing engine and two electric motors, with the power to four wheels is divided. Just like in the TS030 HYBRID Le Mans race car is the recovered braking energy is stored in a supercondensator.
