CRS versnelling
Four Dutch citizens claiming to be a revolutionary gearbox without gears to have invented, developed and patented.

The Controlled Rotation System (CRS) has a simple design, is maintenance free, has no oil is required and is fuel efficient, because there is no friction between gears occurs. This makes the system also very environmentally friendly. The four inventors (the Eindhoven region) expect that this new transmission on a global scale change will bring in the automotive industry.

The system works not with gears but with two discs connected by a strong belt drive. With the help of oil from a digital controlled hydraulic pump and “slide units” is the diameter of those discs always enlarged or reduced in size, causing an acceleration or deceleration occurs. In other words, a higher or lower gear.

The new transmission can be applied in cars, but also in windmills, ships, motorbikes and other machines: “This innovation fits perfectly in a green economy. It’s easier, more compact and cheaper to assemble than traditional transmissions. It saves energy, offers more gear possibilities and can be used in all kinds of applications. The technique is completely different compared to the traditional gearbox which dates from the 19th century. That’s why you can call it revolutionary,” so let it be know. The CRS can not be compared with other/existing CVT systems, so say the authors. To the technology to develop further, they are the company’s Parts Services Holland Ltd started.

Initially, the system was devised for cycling. The idea emerged when they saw how cyclist Andy Schleck in the decisive stage of the Tour de France, the chain of his bicycle, lost (after he switched). Then they thought: it should, but once past those gears!
