While the car sales in 2014, rather in the doldrums, there are nevertheless brands that are a lot better than last year. Skoda is one of the biggest risers of 2014.
2014 was, as expected, a not very successful year for the Dutch car industry, the total number of cars sold is stuck on 387.835 cars, in 2009 after the worst year since 1969. Volkswagen, still the best selling brand in the Netherlands, saw the sale of 14.5% decrease. However, there is also importer Pon still reason to cheer, Skoda knew a growth of no less than 63%.
A large part of the 20.238 Skoda’s this year’s number plates are taken, Skoda Octavia’s, with 13.919 registrations takes possession of the fourth spot in the models top 10. In 2014 came the Skoda Octavia Greenline are still eligible for 14%-added tax, this year there should be about the Czech middle class 20% to be added. Reason for many leaserijders to get a Octavia to choose from at the dealer. Through november, there were less than 166,7% more Skoda’s leased than in 2013 and a few months was the Octavia Combi even the most popular lease car. Which car is ultimately up to the absolute leasetopper of 2014 may crowns is not yet known.
Unfortunately for Skoda seems the chance is very small that the increase in 2015 will continue. Now about the Octavia Greenline 20% should be added, will the car probably gaining a lot of popularity eroded. The new Skoda Superb will that blow probably but a small part of it can absorb.
Other notable risers in 2014 are Nissan (+63,9%, 10.908 registrations), Dacia (+45,9%, 4.375 registrations), Maserati (+400%, 125 registrations), Infiniti (+107,1%, 29 registrations) and Rolls-Royce (+400%, 15 registrations).
