The most expensive, most powerful and fastest, but also the Audi with the least turbo’s.

A hymn for the atmospheric block
For all practical, home-garden-and-kitchen-applications are turbo’s to be preferred, but in a supercar it has the old-fashioned atmospheric block also its advantages. How wonderful to have the V10 the rpm’s to hunt, especially if you use the flippers to hand to the S-tronic box with the double clutch to operate. Especially if you are in too high a gear to start, is the beautiful krachtsopbouw of the atmospheric block clear. With the climbing of the rpm takes the intensity of the sound, acceleration and venijnigheid, all the way to an orgasm of sound and acceleration up to the redline of 8250 rpm.

The maximum torque gets the V10, late in the rpm range to 6500 rpm, but happy to switch the seven-speed S-tronic box with the dual-clutch extremely excited about being back. It has its charm and is the reward that you so wonderfully for a long time can pull in the gears. Also so good is launchcontrol that with one press of the button to activate, it always seems to work such aggressive the power it throws out that there are a couple of nice black stripes on the asphalt.
More quattro than ever
For this R8 has Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive is a big upgrade. In the previous R8 went by default, much of the power to the back, but for this second-generation R8 may be the power fully variably to the front or rear axle can be sent. It ensures that there is an incredible amount of grip and traction for the hands, but also that the pace will be very very high wants are something of playfulness in the chassis to feel. The previous R8 was better using the accelerator to steer, up to a small (or large) driftje, something in the latest R8 a lot harder. Faster, yes, but fun is not always, at least not for every driver.
What you further on the options list box, you must know, but there is one option that you must not skip. The adjustable dampers-Audi Magnetic Ride costs only 2520 eur, but it makes an excellent base. For a supercar that offers the R8 is surprisingly a lot of veercomfort, without that flexibility last have during the firmer cornering.
As much confidence as the frame and quattro all-wheel drive give the brakes. A portion of the cost of the Plus is explained by the fact that this standard ceramic brakes and which are more calculated in their task. The entire package makes the R8 a car that enables easy hard drive.
Virtual cockpit
Minimalist is not the right word, but Audi did for the R8 (and TT) road, namely the map screen. A bit strange, it is the most expensive Audi to sit out and not the obligatory screen of tig inches in the center console. All navigation, entertainment and communication options via a single screen behind the steering wheel and yes, on that screen you can also still use the more traditional information of the car (rpm and speed). It works fine, but you have to take the time to show all of the buttons on the steering wheel to discover.
Competition and conclusion
Oddly enough, you as a car buyer with a quarter million in the pocket in this class also keuzestress. As an alternative to the R8, McLaren has the 570S, the Porsche dealer will wear You like a 911 Turbo S and there are also two Italian alternatives in the form of the Ferrari 488 and Lamborghini Huracan. I would also not know. The McLaren is probably the best supercar, but the R8 sounds the best of all. The Ferrari and Lamborghini, a Ferrari and Lamborghini, with the Huracan that massive V10 with the R8 shares. The Porsche 911 is the most practical of all, that the daily the best life. Very spacious is the R8 not, I was only just in. Choices, choices, choices. Let me know below, where you should go. Movie!
