Samsung Electronics has launched in Argentina a pilot project on the use of truck Safety Truck with the “Safe overtaking”. The system is designed to solve the problem of difficulty of overtaking a truck when the driver performing the maneuver, can’t see the road in front of the overtaken truck. By design the system should prevent crashes in situations involving overtaking heavy vehicles.
The truck is fitted with two cameras for the filming and broadcast of the road before autombiles, the image is displayed, consisting of four video walls Samsung OH46D, with dust – and water-repellent surface. Thus, the truck becomes “transparent” and allows riding behind drivers better assess the situation before overtaking.
The data processing is performed BY the company’s Helvetica. In developing the system was also involved Leo Burnett and Volvo Trucks. According to Samsung, the company plans to expand the project to all of Argentina for four months.
