BMW working on wireless charging for your car

It is quite possible that we have a number of years, wireless charging BMW’s on the market. The German brand is busy with the development of an inductive charging system.
BMW wants ‘medium-term’ a system to introduce that you car is capable of wireless charging. To make sure that we tight not dozens of non cooperative systems of all brands, entered into a collaboration with Daimler (Mercedes). The system works by means of a base station in a driveway or parking space. This can be electric charge through the air to transfer to a lightweight coil that is located in the bottom of the car.
According to its creators, the system, an efficiency of 90% and with the introduction of 3.6 kW through the air. The charging will so what’s more energy costs and last longer than the traditional cable. But, says BMW, the charging current may in the future be increased to 7 kW. Currently, a working BMW i8 prototype in 2 hours to fully charge.
Parking on the plate is sufficient to your future BMW i to provide power. A wi-fi connection between the base station and the car takes care of the communication between charger and battery. The system would be under all kinds of weather to use and does not experience any negative influence of a thick layer of snow. However, there is continuous monitored or there are no living beings under the car. That seems to be not so good for the health.
