De Zanis 1
An American DIY-project that hilarious looking but works.

The fact that this project is already some years old, does not make it less fun. Greg Zanis was the director of a large company and had already, as a 6-year-old child, the dream of an electric car to build. In 2008, he had enough money to realize this dream; the ZANIS 1 was born.

He opted for a non-trivial design. The pyramid-shaped body would be good for the safety. The idea is that when you get hit by another car, you only have to on the side is pushed, but you are not injured. According to Greg, is the car the safest in the world. He is equipped with a 1.5-inch thick bullet proof glass and has a pre-inflated airbags around.

Under the lids of the pyramid are a four 12 hp electric motors with the car on a top of 75 km/h. The 2.5 cubic feet of car weighs in at a chunky 3600 kilograms and featuring 80 batteries over a range of 70 kilometers. The other lids to accommodate, among other things, a more awkward radio, the batteries and the separate in to turn off lights. The heating of the car consists of a hair dryer the interior within a few seconds hot. Energy is generated with solar panels.

The pyramid has a very high house-garden-and-kitchen level. Still, there was Greg’s intention the weird thing to the right man. His first concept took him over 85.000 dollar, and would be for a consumer price of between 30,000 and 50,000 dollars may be offered. To start the production process, he had 3 million dollars needed, but that has it -quite amazing – until now still not gathered.
