Wainer Alfasud Bimotore
Halfway through the previous decade bore tuner MTM stir with the Bimoto, Audi TT with two engines. This trick is however not new, a generation earlier, there was already an Alfasud with the same layout.

On a certain day looked Gianfranco Mantovani Wainer once critical to the entry-level Alfaatje, and thought then “hmm, needs moar engine” (in Italian). This luminous idea was still enforceable, provided that the blocks were too large, and so there were two 1186 cm3 boxermotoren, each good for 79 hp, in the Alfasud to lie: one in the front, and one where before the back seat was. The Wainer Bimotore 4X4 was born, free to the Citroën 2CV Sahara in the years ’60.

With a little bit of extra air intake was the butt cool enough, and if everything is running smoothly, ran keeps this Bimotore in 8,2 seconds to 100, and got a top speed of 215 km/h. That this is under the enjoyment of a terrible tank noise in the interior was (the second motor) contributed only to the experience.

The rear engine had its own gearbox, which is in tandem with the front left control. The engines could be separately run, but if the vehicle was in motion, then they had both turned on.

In more modern times, inspired the cup of others also with such a setup to experiment with, such as this Alfasud-monster shows, but it was Wainer, who with his extreme one-off, the spell broke:
