A car design is no easy task, especially not when it’s the crème de la crème of Ferrari should be. Logical, therefore, that there are a lot of signed, gekleid, brainstormed and cursed before the only real Ritz saw the light of day.
At the end of 2010 began, the Italians already in the design of a Enzo-successor. After an extensive pre-selection resulted in the designers of Flavio Manzoni and Pininfarina no less than nine design proposals in at Ferrari. Each sketch had Ferrari DNA, but interpreted in different ways. The nine embryonic Ferrari’s were in 1: 4 scale built and a further selection of subject.

The brand had with the nine sketches plenty of choice and selected in april 2011, and eventually five models that went on to the next round. Three of Pininfarina, and two of Manzoni. All five were true large, patched together, only two could it to the finals.

The last thing the Italians on doubted have is the side. There was in the concluding phase of an asymmetric Ritz built on both sides of a slightly different design. From there, it was the final version chosen, and we were allowed in march 2013 in Geneva to meet with the the Ferrari under Ferrari’s. One of the sketches is not published, which was apparently so that it is preserved for possible future use. (via formtrends.com)
