Almost a year after the first unveiling comes Mercedes with all the final details of its first plug-in hybrid model, the S500 Hybrid. The car, later this year, comes on the market, it is more energy-efficient than air, and has also received an award.

Than the price: it will not surprise you that this is in the six figures. In the Netherlands, this 114.900 euro. Do you have that amount ready, then you can, from today, order it at the local Mercedes dealer. You can then in October pick up.

The sprint from 0-100 does the S500 in 5.2 seconds, an improvement of 0.3 seconds. Under the hood is still the 2.996 cc large V6 (Mercedes’ first ‘500’model ever, without the V8) with dual turbochargers, which itself is 333 hp and 480 Nm provides. In combination with the 85 kW strong electric motor the S-Class to a system power of 442 hp and 650 Nm. Pure electric the car has a range of 33 miles (30 km) and reaches 140 km/h.
