New round, new chances: Max Verstappen is going to this weekend in Malaysia looking for his first Formula 1 points. The first free practice was encouraging, Max had the pace there to be nice.
With 1:41.803 sat Verstappen thick one and a half count among the fastest driver, Nico Rosberg (1:40.124), but he was also slower than team-mate Carlos Sainz, who is a fifth time recorded (1:41.596).
Lewis Hamilton had engine problems and klokte no time, while Fernando Alonso and his McLaren deftly all Malaysian squall dodged, but not further than 1:42.885 (14th time). This, incidentally, was still quicker than teammaatje Button, so there is still work to do for Honda.
This Sunday, the F1 circus to 09:00 hours our time of launch. It is in Malaysia already 16:00, the latest possible starting time to have daylight to be able to drive. Still, nice that Bernie us yet let a lie-in.
Update: and the 2nd VT, there is by. Pats! Now it’s 8th, and faster then Sainz:
