That was a shock, during the Monterey Motorsports Reunion this weekend. A wheel of the Chevrolet Monza decided that it no longer makes sense in had, and broke into a 1,000 pieces. Then set the band rate to the public.

A crash is for the people on the job already annoying, but the biggest risk is that the spectators and marshalls, if there are loose parts on them fly off. A wheel is the last thing you want to see thunder. So are several known fatalities of drivers and marshalls that by a wheel a hit.

At the Reunion, which was around the Pebble Beach event at Laguna Seca was held, was the damage fortunately; the largest vessel was already off the wheel when the public instuiterde. Nevertheless, it is a bizarre sight to the wheel, of which only the rim is left (detail), see fly. Video HERE (via).
