At the start of the V8 naturally goes to the sun shine. As much CO2 broke the exhaust off, and in all their wisdom sanctioned the Dutch government the Mustang V8 with a half barrel to additional tax. Fortunately, there is also a four-cylinder, which is reportedly maintained to the fuel, just that the Mustang if icemaker can be used.

Through the “grey” import scored lovers always have their portion of the ponies, but soon the Mustang at the official Ford dealer to be purchased. The arrival to Europe with all the politicians with gluten-allergy CO2-intolerance, was a major reason for Ford to have a fuel-efficient four-cylinder engine in the front to screws.
Four cylinders are for a real muscle was always the half too little, and on the statement there is “no substitute for cubic inches” does the 2.3 litre big block also, not a right. Luckily we live in a time where manufacturers by the use of turbos to create blocks that are very largely over the 100 horsepower per litre (for the Mustang: 139 hp per litre). The Mustang 2.3 EcoBoost left a mixed impression. Strictly speaking, that is fast enough, but the chassis of the Mustang is so good, that a small 320 hp was not enough to make the Mustang a playful muscle. In the four-cylinder Mustang I drove full throttle on the pieces where you have it in the V8 out of your head. It is an exaggeration to say that the Mustang is the 100 hp from the V8, but it is a better car.
Geluidstechnisch is the V8 of course, preferable to the four-cylinder. Ford still has a heroic attempt to create the 2.3 is a kind of boxer roar to give, but only if you have never seen a real boxer have heard trap you in it.
The Inconvenient Truth
Americans understand the CO2 game in Europe and/ or the Dutch rules are ridiculous. If you want a V8 or a four cylinder with automatic transmission, then you will wallet bleeding for the additional CO2 emissions. With an automatic transmission increases the CO2-emissions of the 2.3 Ecoboost from 179 to 225 grams per kilometre. Strangely enough, the V8 correctly the machine more economical.

Every car is better of 100 hp extra
This rule goes on to 500 horsepower, and the Mustang is NOT the exception to the rule confirmed. If you love speed and can afford, go for the V8. The Mustang 2.3 EcoBoost is a nice car, the Mustang 5.0 V8 is a f*cking fantastic car. The V8 is loud, the drive train is more “manly”, in the sense that everything is firmer and more durable feel. As if you were the car in the dragstrip can take on.
Ford has also figured out and rest is the V8 standard with Line Lock. This allows the front wheels to block to be so via a standing burnout the tires to warm up. That is on a dragstrip, but on the street it is a great way to get a big burnout to pull. Our “journalistic” principles in honour to keep, we have the course for you tested and recorded on video.

A hooligan with ways
Ford for the European market even further worked on the chassis and that is to brands. For a car with such sporting aspirations offers the Mustang is also a surprising amount of comfort, the suspension does well on bad roads very well. The “rigid axle” of yesteryear is gone, in its place came MacPherson struts with double ball joints at the front and a brand-new independent, integral multilink suspension at the rear. By use of aluminum could the unsprung weight has to be brought back, which is both good for comfort and handling.
The grip is good, so good that you even in the V8 a proper hooligan needs to be something of a streak. If it succeeds, it’s nice to see that by the standard limited slip differential on two sides of equal length black marks on the asphalt are applied.
No autobahn cannon
Ford has for the design to be guided by previous Mustangs and although that for the recognition is very good, it has also disadvantages for the aerodynamics. The forward sloping grille (shark-bite) would actually sit back to tilt, but in this case it was form over function.
The main market for the Mustang continues to be the United States and there is the Mustang a popular car on the circuit. Aerodynamic stability and cooling for the brakes were thus more important than the highest possible top speed. Up to 180 pushes the V8 is still on going, but then you feel that the Mustang effort to to overcome the air resistance. You will, moreover, in the fifth gear should do, because the sixth resistance is a real overdrive, which is designed to reduce consumption. At 250 km/h running the V8 only 4200 rpm and creeps very slowly to the 255 km/h limited top. Oh and in the convertible (without windschot) stores the wind with so much power to that the rear view mirror will vibrate. With roof closed that problem is obviously solved.
You want a V8, but your wallet does not
That is the summary, because the price difference of a half a ton is not to ignore it. After the reduction is the starting price of 47 mille is again reasonable for a 300pk+, rear-wheel drive, well-equipped coupe. Movie!
