Belgian speed zone recognizes personal vehicle is not

In Belgium you can have a personalized license plate order. And we now have the ultimate reason for you to do that!

It is shown that the personalized license plates (“vanity plates”) are not recognized by the Belgian controls in Flanders. And while the Belgians just with better flash badges were working. The Belgian government and minister Jan Jambon admit that the special ANPR cameras that are used in controls and on the approach roads to towns, the badges are, indeed, not to recognize.

The AWV (Flemish Agency for Roads and Traffic) confirms the problem, and indicates that the cameras as quickly as possible be adapted so that the personalized plates are again captured and punished.

At this moment there are, however, some 10,000 people with a vanity plate to drive in Belgium. It will cost you a small investment to make with such special number plates to be allowed to drive, but that is of course recovered quickly.
