Who with the knowledge of years ago recently had a look took a random BMW-engine can only but have disappointed responded. We look a few years just as surprised as we are not six-in-line, but a V6 under the blue-and-white logo find?
The rumors about a BMW V6 sing already since year and day around. They also had covers on the new M3/M4, fueled by the *cough* respectable automedia, but BMW’s latest //M went out of the dance (happy?). Compared to Road & Track gives BMW now that the all V6 blocks manufactures, but purely and only for internal testing purposes.
The good news for the inveterate I6-fan is that the group still indicates that the V-shapes do not come close to the delicious smeuiige package. In other words: relax our batty, the ‘straight six’ hold still a while from under the Bavarian hood, and anything smaller than a V8 will get the cylinders just at a glance. In internet terms: if it fits, it sits.
It is also more fun for notorious inclined angle-haters: Das Haus, also known as Mercedes-Benz, seems to be hard to work on a modern six-in-line-engine, and also about Jaguar rumors of a six-in-line-revival of the round. Audi, which other German brand, has currently no plans of the V’s to get off.
How the possible products of the Mercedes and Jag relate towards the now undisputed king of the I6, that will be the time to learn. What we do know is that they are also in Munich never sit still.
