The idea of the art car came four decades ago by the French racecar driver Hervé Poulain. He asked his friend Alexander Calder, a beroemdde American sculptor, with a few pots of paint loose to go on his BMW 3.0 CSL. The former BMW Motorsport director Jochen Neerpasch gave his approval for the project, and the art car was born.
