Renault 5 Turbo 2
A Renault 5 you do not often see more, a Renault 5 Turbo 2, not at all. Let alone an English one.

The Renault 5 Turbo is a car that Renault actually had meant for rallying, yet decided the brand a limited task to produce on the road. In 1980, it all started with the Renault 5 Turbo 1. That car had a mid-engine with turbo and was radically modified as a sports car by life. When already got Renault the for each other to get out of a 1.4 turboblokje 160 hp and 221 Nm. The most special part about it is that the car is also rear wheel drive and was produced by Alpine. With a car weight of 970 kilograms a bizarre fast toy for his time.

After four hundred copies, it was unfortunately all over for the first generation. The Turbo 2 had in 1982 a cheaper successor to be more parts shared with the regular Renault 5. That meant less exotic materials, a standard dashboard and simpler technique. That made the car 30 kilograms heavier. Nevertheless, it was Renault in this version to be a legend. The performance of the 1.4 turbo remained as good as unchanged, and we knew the box still in 6,6 seconds to 100 km/h.

The Turbo 2 that lamm7191 scoffed in Doetinchem is from 1984. After a number of foreign years, this stunning red Renault 5 with thick Bertone-ass in 1989 to the Netherlands. The current owner is already 22 years in possession of the cart and is so well cared for. This thing looks like new, no rust and a beautiful scarlet paint. And what a really fat rear tires (220/55VR365)-ie, by the way. A sports car lover, sometimes it seems like everything used to be better… GTI’s now, take an example here.
