Hans Stacey starts Dakar 2015 with victory in openingsetappe

If the signs will not deceive us, than the Dutch participants, a beautiful Dakar 2015 to wait. Especially when the trucks are our compatriots to be a strong started.

The participants started today on the first leg and put about 170 kilometres between Buenos Aires and Villa Carlos Paz. Hans Stacey did that in the for him new Iveco Torpedo as the fastest truck and took as direct revenge for his somewhat disappointing performance last year. The 56-year-old citizen of eindhoven knew when too much materiaalpech in the battle for the race mixing, but now features the latest material of Iveco and Team de Rooy.

Also the second place in the vrachtwagenklassement was a Dutchman Marcel van Vliet in the MAN. Martin van den Brink (Renault, 5th), Wuf van Ginkel (Ginaf, 8th) and Gerard de Rooy (Iveco, 9th) finished in the top ten and lost a maximum of two minutes on lijstaanvoerder Stacey.

Also in the other tables finished several Dutch participants in the best ten. Take Bernhard ten Brinke, who is in the car a respectable seventh place, picked up in his Toyota. MINI-driver Erik van Loon put on his turn, taking the ninth place. Where the other Dutch (and Belgians) ended, check here.

Tomorrow the lord is the first real stage of processing, as compared with the rest of the rally was the 170 kilometers of today, of course, a joke. That is tomorrow to be different, because then the car drivers the longest trial (518 km) of their choosing, while the trucks are 331 kilometres.
