Medal for the Iranians that the navy US stopped

TEHRAN –

Five Iranian marineofficieren have a high award because they recently two American patrol boats had stopped. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the highest leader of the country, presented the so-called Overwinningsmedaille to the head of the navy of the Revolutionary Guard and four commanders at the action itself were involved.

The boats of the American navy were in mid-January by the Iranians seized in Iranian waters. Ten passengers were on board locked up. The incident came at a precarious time: shortly before the events of the nuclear agreement between Iran and various world powers would go in. After a day, the air cleared: Iran declared that the Americans accidentally the territorial waters of the Islamic Republic were entered.

Iran and the United States have their relationship vastly improved, with the nuclear agreement and an end to the sanctions against Iran as a result. But the religious authority in Tehran remains highly suspicious of the Americans.
