French protest against extension of emergency

PARIS –

In several cities in France, people take to the streets merged to protest against the planned extension of emergency rule in the country. Multiple human rights organisations and the trade union of judges had called for the demonstrations. The protest focused in addition to extend the state of emergency also on the plan to convicted terrorists, the French citizenship to take it away.

According to the radio station ‘France Info’ is about eighty different locations is demonstrated.

After the attacks in november in Paris, announced the French president, François Hollande, the state of emergency. Therefore, it is for the authorities easier to put terrorist suspects under house arrest and for searches without court order.

The state of emergency is valid now until 26 February. The plan is for that period of three months.
