Standard came the Porsche 968 with a four-cylinder engine, actually a halved V8 from the 928, which was then opgeboord to three liters. Nice, but a Porsche will hear a six-cylinder engine to have? Not according to the judge, hands behind this unstable project.
That last word gave might have been a hint to the engine that under the hood of this Porsche 968 hidden: a wankel engine. And not the embattled block from the NSU RO80, but the block from a Mazda RX-7. A turboloos instance to understand, and that means that the 968 is now a lot less horses under the hood than the 240 with which it left the factory. Perhaps even just a small 120 horsepower, as well as the expertise of an RX-7 driver on Carscoops can trust. The conversion is according to the seller’s neatly done, all we have our questions with the cork, which one of the rubber hoses is sealed (see photo 4).
Less power, the sound of a runaway Dyson, a wijnkurk as a seal and a Porsche from the early 90s, which is optically clear, is related to the 924 from 1976, there is perhaps some good news? According to the seller, the vehicle is now a lot better steering and braking than the original. Could, but to yourself first, you will have to Washinton, USA, have to travel to test that. Another plus point is the interior. Now is the 968-interior anyway good, to plums, but in this colour scheme it is quite a fine sight.
Currently, the Porsche offered on Ebay for 8.995 dollars or a good offer, but for a test drive you should, as said, quite a bit of traveling. Simply ‘Buy it Now’ button and quite a lot to pay for shipping should also, of course, but then not come to us complaining when the car is disappointing. We have warned you!
