Ford wants to patent on light auto parts

A remarkable discovery in the patentdatabase in the United States: Ford wants to parts of the body with light according to a detected request.
To be precise, it is the request of a patent on the “luminous vehicle moldings” in other words: light-emitting afwerklijsten, such as strips and finishing of, for example, the convertible top of the pictured Ford Mustang.
Ford aims to accomplish this with minimal use of electronics, but also due to coatings to use that light to guide. It seems a bit similarities with glow-in-the-dark paint. The coating must be fed by a series of LEDS that are available in the afwerklijsten are made. The coating then ensures an even spread of light across the part. On the patentafbeelding is to see that this is going to be the finish of the rails.
Is this a travelling carnival, or going to Ford it in such a subtle way that’s cool? Or do we see this never back on a production vehicle?
