As a foretaste on the generation of Ferrari’s to come, launched by Pininfarina in 2000, this particular Rossa. The appearance is somewhat based on that of the Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa. You know, that classic racert that nowadays for downright bizarre amounts traded.

The Rossa is on the chassis of the fairly rare 550 Barchetta Pininfarina, partly under the hood is the 5.5-litre V12 from that model. Partly, because the block comes beautifully through an opening in the hood to the outside.

Some style elements we saw later indeed back on production ferraris. Think of the 612 Scaglietti and of course the 599 GTB. For the connoisseur with an eye for the detail: the achterlichtjes, two years after the release of the Rossa is indeed used for the Ferrari Enzo.

The interior of the Rossa is at least just as special as the outside, and to make the experience complete, there is just a manual gearbox with old-fashioned schakelrooster in. Cool but useless, as much further than the trading floor would be the one-off Rossa not come.
