Lotus Exige LF1 celebrates the F1-history of the brand

Lotus has a limited edition of perhaps the most ultimate rijdersauto released.

Lotus is celebrating her 81 victories in Formula 1 with, indeed, 81 pieces of the Exige LF1. This limited edition is on the same reading as the Exige S shod. In other words, behind the two sport seats is a 3.5 l V6 with a Harrop HTV 1320 Supercharger, 350 hp delivers at 7.000 rpm and 400 Nm emits if the needle is 4,500 rpm point. The 1176 kg weight Brit has, therefore, no more than 4 seconds to the 100 km/h on tap, and only stops at 274 km/h with acceleration.

The changes compared to the regular S include a black color with golden and red details. An obvious nod to Lotus’ past, when the brand in F1 with zwartgouden cars at the starting line appeared. The 17 (front) and 18 (rear) inch wheels of the LF1 are also in the gold stung, and wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo tyres. Lotus provides the LF1 also of a stockier braking system with red brake calipers, and a Dynamic Performance Management system.

In and around the car, place Lotus various LF1 logos, but the most notable is the construction of carbon fiber in the interior, which in addition to the vessel is also one of the 81 F1 victories is listed (photo). The first victory in 1960 in Monaco, Kimi’s zegerit in Australia a year ago. Finally, it gives Lotus the car will have a carbon fibre motordeksel.

Now we know that the Exige S is a fairly spartan car (look only to the interior – or the lack thereof). If you want that little extra luxury, the benefits of Lotus ‘m, if desired, with heated seats and parking sensors.

Lotus says that the Exige LF1 globally available, except in the USA. What the Exige LF1 will cost is not yet known.
