Nissan have confirmed the IDx conceptcars to translate to a production model in 2016 should come on the market.
The free translation of that news sounds like “we will offer an alternative for the Toyota GT86 / Subaru BRZ” and of course that is nice news for anyone of affordable stuurmansautootjes. Nissan revealed the IDx concepts for the first time at the auto show of Tokyo in november last year. The IDx Freeflow was more lifestyle focused with a 1.2 or 1.5, while the IDx Nismo is a sporting variant on the theme that was ten inches wider, and a 1.6 turbo under the hood that would be good for 190 horsepower.
Or Nissan really for both variants to choose is the question, Executive Vice President Andy Palmer: “I’m not saying that we are not both the variants on the market but we do, in any case, one that is internal is still discussed.”
The IDx should be a fun riding but also affordable car that the youth a bit more excite for the driving. The Nissan 200SX (also known as Silvia called in some countries) is an example for Nissan in this project and that ties in with the posts from October last year. Rear wheel drive, compact (4,10 metres long and 1.30 high), lightweight and no hybrid or electric nonsense. The looks should be in the neighborhood of the concept remain, and although I personally can appreciate, I can also imagine that there are people who are not really fan of this design. For a good judgement, we have what livefoto’s of the show floor in Detroit added.
