Skoda 935
Skoda is still trying always of the eastern Bloc image, and where some people of the Czech brand still associate. Unjustified, because the brand has in its long history, so many beautiful cars built. As this Skoda 935 Dynamic from 1935, for example.

The Chrysler Airflow set in 1934, the entire car industry on its head. Although the consumer nothing of the streamlined Chrysler, see a lot of other car brands in that this is the path to the future. Among others, Peugeot and Toyota come up with almost blatant copies of the Airflow, but also other brands are inspired. So presents Skoda in 1935, this streamlined prototype, that except with regard to Airflow, also called a touch of the Czech Tatra.

After the prototype in 1935, a few scholarships may perk up, disappears the car out of sight. If Skoda in 1968, a museum opens, they do a call to the people with interesting cars from the long past (since 1895) of the brand has to offer. So it can happen that a farmer is calling stating that he is still a foreign Skoda in his barn. Skoda itself has only three photos in her archives of the 935, so that the car is above water, you can be sure of a big surprise to be called.

Restoration

Long is the car in unrestored condition in the museum. Once again, it appears that Skoda in those days not much attention is paid to its archives, because if the museum years later, the building is renovated, is again but a single communication on the prototype found: “the 935 will run well’. So saw the car there is now no more, by the way, so restoration was required.

That was a long process of several years. At the beginning of 2014 is a bare body, with the water-cooled tweeliter viercilinderboxer with 55 hp at the rear. For a 4.86-meter-long car, the weight 1170 pounds. Thanks to the streamline, and the relatively low weight, the car is a 1935 excellent top speed of over 140 miles per hour.

Now is the Skoda 935 so completely restored, not coincidentally, 80 years after its introduction at the Prague auto show. It seems more than obvious, that Skoda in the beginning of October the 935 again on its position as the Autoshow Praha is opening its doors. Until that time, we have to make do with these beautiful plates.
