VKontakte has denied paid access to music

The press service of the social network Vkontakte has denied preparing to launch paid access to musical recordings. This was reported by the Agency TASS.

According to a representative of Vkontakte, the social network “will not restrict access to your primary music service or make it paid.”

We will remind, yesterday, on 28 January 2016, in the media appeared information about the fact that Vkontakte may soon start demanding payment in one form or another for users to access music records. This was due to the fact that Maxim Dmitriev, co-founder of the MIT (First music publishing), said at a press conference on the conclusion with Vkontakte agreements on legalization of content.

According to unofficial sources, the deal is not only Facebook, but other social networks, under the wing of Mail.ru Group — Classmates and “My world”. It is also noted that Vkontakte will pay the MIT for the use of library minimum guarantee payments and of the revenue from music sales. Also it was mentioned that after the social network will negotiate with all rights holders, it will begin to test different forms of monetization of music content, but also the source noted that online music will remain free.
