Microsoft has ended today, 12 January 2016, support for “legacy” version of Internet Explorer. To obsolete the company classifies all versions up to Internet Explorer 11, simply put, we are talking about Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10.
According to Microsoft, from January 12 – “obsolete” versions of Internet Explorer will cease to provide technical support and be issued a security update. Internet Explorer version 11 is considered to be still relevant, for it will continue to produce security updates and compatibility fixes, as well as provided technical support. However, for this the browser must be using a supported OS versions — Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. Note that today also stopped support of Windows 8 (without the update to Windows 8.1).
Microsoft offers Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10 or to upgrade to Internet Explorer 11, either upgrade to a newer browser Microsoft Edge.
