The press service of MTS stated that the network of the fourth generation LTE launched by the operator in all regions of Russia. The only exception is the Crimea. In 2015 MTS has installed more than 15 thousand base stations. Almost half of these, 7.3 million, support high-speed LTE standard.
According to Dmitry Solodovnikov, press Secretary of MTS, as a result, MTS became the first Russian operator to launch LTE in all regions. According to Vedomosti, MegaFon and VimpelCom launched LTE in 76 and 60 of Russia’s regions, respectively. MTS RES is about 83 regions.
We will remind, according to the terms obtained in 2012 license, by 2015, MTS was supposed to launch 4G in 22 regions. Thus, the plan was exceeded by almost four times.
