When the previous Passat came on the market, it was actually nothing other than an entire major facelift, but this time it seems Volkswagen everything out of the closet. Including a plug-in hybrid variant, because leaserijders must gepaaid with a low tax liability.

The new Passat will be built on the modular MQB platform where several model year cars from the Volkswagen group. Another important difference with the current Passat is that the weight is likely to sharply down. There has even been talk about a reduction of 100 kilos.

That will ensure that the new Passat is much more efficient it will be than the current Passat. Good news for nature lovers and business drivers is the arrival of a stekkerhybride, which undoubtedly will be eligible for only 14% additional tax liability.
