Thug life
The Swiss branch of British bank HSBC was, until recently, a paradise for tax evaders, but now there is a list leaked which has more than 100,000 tax evaders would be able to reveal. Among them, Fernando Alonso, Valentino Rossi, Heikki Kovalainen and Flavio Briatore.

HSBC is going to be prosecuted for accepting large sums of money without asking for the identity of the customer. This would enable money laundering and other illicit finance to be easy in the Swiss bank.

That this is all in the public domain is a result of the disclosure of Hervé Falciani, a systems administrator who has the list with names and details in 2008 took with him when he went to the bank. He gave the information to Christine Lagarde, the French minister of Finance.

In total, it would go to 100 billion dollars spread over 106.000 HSBC customers. Alonso would be good for 42.3 million euros, spread over four accounts. Flavio Briatore would be $73 million dollars spread over 38 accounts and Valentino Rossi has reportedly 23.9 million euros on two accounts. Heikki Kovalainen is a fairly small player in comparison with his colleagues, he would be something over $130,000 dollars in three accounts. That big Formula 1 names popping up is no surprise, HSBC was on multiple cars in the Formula 1 (containing enough earners).

What the consequences are for the men who we know from the automotive and motorsport that is here revealed is still unclear. The investigation into the actions of HSBC and its customers is still running and will be given the scope could even continue to walk.
