In the study, the subjects were shown images of various vegetables and fruits. A total of 128 adults participated in two experiments. It turned out that people prefer certain food combinations more than others. For example, apple and banana were chosen more often than apple and blackberry. The scientists hypothesized that such combinations are predicted by the amount of micronutrients in the couple.
The following experiment showed that people combine food in such a way that the amount of micronutrients in their diet increases. For example, curries with rice, for example, contain a wider range of micronutrients than randomly generated dishes such as chips and curries.
