During the Second World War, German tankers had a memo attached to their workplace. No, there were no instructions or any “inspiring quotes from the Fuhrer”, everything was much more prosaic – it was written there how much a combat vehicle costs in terms of the number of familiar products or things.

A guy from the village or from the working outskirts should have understood what the country had entrusted to him. If you happened to be in the army not as a guest, but in a full-fledged service, you yourself could see how conscripts (and some contract soldiers) don’t give a damn about expensive state-owned equipment, which was treated like a toy, because “Well, what is it?”. Moreover, after returning from the army, these fighters will even wipe their penny Zhiguli “two-swallows”, and shudder at every knock, and spend hours consulting on forums on the Internet, which spare parts are better to buy, and where to find a good master.

But in working with an armored personnel carrier or an army KamAZ for millions of rubles, a jammed engine is a classic situation, simply because of a disregard for checking the oil level. And on the march, staggering the entire suspension, collecting potholes and potholes is a sacred thing.

Therefore, today we will talk about how much military equipment costs the budget, because looking at the pictures from the Bugatti, everyone understands that it’s expensive and bohato. And now you will know how many of these Bugattis you can buy for the price of an BMP-3.

Light armored vehicles

Let's start with BMP-2. This car is objectively morally obsolete, but they were fairly stamped, and it’s not possible to replace them with new models so easily and quickly (when we reveal the prices for new cars, you will understand why), while the “kopeck piece” continue to upgrade. Improve the fire control system, communications equipment and surveillance devices. With the Berezhok fighting compartment, the latest version of the BMP-2, the favorite milf of Russian motorized riflemen, began to cost 29.5 million rubles per unit.

Many? We're just getting started, next comes the BMP-3. It is already very different from its predecessor. Firstly, because it is much better armored – the middle frontal part has a 10 mm steel screen, then 70 mm air gap, + 12 mm steel again, and finally 60 mm aluminum. From the sides of 43 mm aluminum armor, the protection, frankly, is much better, the forehead holds hits from 30 mm armor-piercing shells from 200 meters.

The armament is also more terrible – a 100-mm smooth-bore gun-launcher, from which you can send not only armor-piercing, but also ATGMs. It is paired with a 30 mm automatic cannon for more prosaic tasks, plus machine guns. Almost a tank, because he can fight tanks almost on an equal footing. At least not the most modern ones.

The cost of the last purchase of 168 vehicles for the army is about 85 million rublesper unit, the documents did not indicate exactly which “complete sets”, but most likely we are talking about the classic version with the Bakhcha-U module.

Slightly more prosaic prices for BTR-82А. Although it has been brought up to almost BMP in terms of firepower, due to the 30-mm 2A72 automatic cannon (unlike the 2A42 on the BMP-2, accuracy is lower, but the recoil is softer, which is why it was shoved onto a lighter chassis). Such a machine costs the treasury 29-30 million rubles, and these are the prices of 2016.

Well, what about the landing force, which has been updated for a long time BMD-4M with the same Bakhcha-U combat module as the BMP-3? Predictably, airborne equipment is more expensive (and the same aluminum alloys in armor) – in the same 2019 they were purchased at 117 million apiece. Your gangsta rappers waving their arms around the helicons couldn't even dream of such expensive cars!

Therefore, it becomes clearer to me why in the chronicles of the Chechen war it is so difficult to find BMDs and almost unrealistic BMP-3s – the cars were simply saved for more “serious” cases, leaving the soldiers with thin “kopeck pieces” made of steel with 9 mm sides – women still give birth … well, you understand.

Only one episode with the BMP-3, which was in the Kemerovo brigade in 1995, is reliably known, in case you suddenly have more examples of those times – write in the comments.

But the purchase of new B-19 combat vehicles with the Epoch module (on the BMP-3 chassis), which debuted at last year's exercises, will cost the treasury 167 million per copy. Well, here it’s already close to the tank. Speaking of tanks…

Tanks

Newer light armored vehicles have not yet been found. Well, we will monitor prices for it and publish them later. In general, the prices for the old familiar equipment are impressive. And how much do tanks cost then?

Let's start with the T-72, the hope and support of our tank troops. Most of them were produced back in the USSR in the latest modification of the T-72B. T-72B3 is the most massive of Russian upgrades, which reached the standards of “about T-90”. And this is especially noticeable in the T-72 series B3 of the 2016 model, because they already have dynamic protection Relict, diesel V-92S2Fin 1130 horses, an improved gun stabilizer and a new generation of surveillance equipment.

In prices for 2016, only the replacement of dynamic protection and the installation of a new engine (+ minor improvements such as improved tracks) on already the existing tank cost 16.6 million rubles per tank.

In total, the upgrade to the T-72B3 took place in three waves – 2011, 2014 and 2016 . In 2013, modernization cost 22 million rubles, and an additional 30 million for the overhaul of the tank itself. Total – 52 million rubles. There is no more detailed information about how much a full update cost later in open sources. There are 1380 such modernized vehicles in the army today, so you can roughly imagine the amount it cost.

What about T-90 and its versions? There is more information here, but rather about export prices. The most modern T-90M Proryv costs, on average, 300-330 million rubles. But here the markup is higher, and the amount depends heavily on the volume of supplies and how long the cooperation is, in short, business.

-90A Vladimircost his own army about 118 million rubles per unit. Divinely, of course, but it is obvious that today the hands are different. Since there is no more accurate data, I think that the amount will be within 200-250 million.

But everything is more intelligible and clearer with prices for a more interesting specimen – the tank T-14 Armata. This machine already belongs to the new generation, so the prices here are appropriate. T-14 is not just pumping all the main elements a step forward, a lot of things were used in this car for the first time. Just evaluate the scale of the new features, as they say gadgetomaniacs:

• New А-85-3А engine with 1350 horsepower. This is no longer an obscenely bored V-2 from the T-34, barely giving out 1130 hp. s., which was installed even on the newest T-90M.

Afghanit Active Protection Complex. The old Arena system never made it to any series, so the modern T-90M, unlike the Armata, was left without this type of protection, which all decent countries already have analogues. The Afghanite does not act by launching an anti-missile to a projectile/missile that threatens the tank, but turns the turret towards the ATGM so that the blow falls on the most protected part and you can immediately hit the enemy with a return shot.

Active Phased Array – a radar that tracks up to 40 ground and 25 air targets within a radius of up to 100 km.

2А82< /strong>– a new launcher cannon, greatly expanding the amount of usable ammunition (it can be loaded with a projectile up to 1 meter long) with a rate of fire up to 12 rounds per minute. The effective range has been increased to 7000 meters.

Stealth — yes, you heard right. The set of stealth means includes an exhaust cooling system, thermal insulation, an abundance of hull edges (reduces radio visibility) and radar absorbing elements.

And this is just the tip of the iceberg. In 2015, when the T-14 began to be demonstrated, the car was estimated at 250 million rubles. Last year, other figures were already announced, taking into account improvements over 6 years of running-in, as well as difficulties in introducing new radio-electronic elements by the Russian industry (we, let me remind you, are cut off from imports). As a result, the price rose to … my mother is a woman, 510-520 million rubles (7 million dollars)! Well, let's not forget about the realities of the ruble exchange rate right now and inflation since these prices were announced.

And if the T-14 is planned to be purchased very carefully for now (the tank, frankly, is very expensive in order to flood all directions in the war with it), then the T-90M is planned to be purchased 200 units per year.

These are the numbers based on the results. If you have something to add to the information in the article, we will be glad, welcome to the comments.
