According to the Official Video This week, the Air Force Research Laboratory released a video on YouTube declaring that the US military plans to expand its space surveillance capabilities beyond geostationary orbit, all the way to the Moon.Discuss
“So far, the United States space mission has stretched 22,000 miles above the Earth,” says the announcer in the video. “That was then. The Air Force Research Laboratory expands this range by a factor of 10, and the United States area of operations by a factor of 1,000, bringing our coverage to the far side of the Moon and cislunar space.”
They plan to launch in circumlunar space satellite, probably equipped with a powerful telescope. According to the video, the satellite will be called Cislunar Highway Patrol System.
