Announcements center around themMobile World Congress (MWC), the world's largest trade show for mobile devices, begins next week in Barcelona. It did not take place for two years due to the pandemic. The upcoming event will demonstrate how much the smartphone industry has changed in recent yearsDiscuss ” alt=”The Chinese almost completely “captured” the largest European exhibition of smartphones” The Chinese almost completely “captured” Europe's largest smartphone show />
According to The Verge, all the biggest hardware announcements at the show are likely to come from Chinese brands such as Oppo, Honor, TCL, Xiaomi Poco and Huawei , and not from brands from Europe, America or even South Korea.
Honor, for example, plans to announce the Magic 4 series, Xiaomi – Poco X4 Pro 5G, Realme – “the fastest smartphone charging technology in the world.”
The Verge concluded that this trend is an interesting reflection of who benefits the most from trade shows. It's not companies like Samsung and Apple that can do major launches separately. For companies like Honor or TCL, MWC seems like a good chance to gather a lot of press in one place and showcase new products.
