It has passed since the beginning of the Russian military operation more than a day. Now it became approximately clear what this operation is. There are three “fronts” or, more correctly, the directions where the main battles take place: p>

Ka-52 Alligator, first massively used in real combat conditions

This direction is strategically the most important, since successes here entail the most unfortunate consequences for Ukraine. The surrender of Kyiv can dramatically bring down the morale of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the entire population, especially if the country is left without a political leadership or it is paralyzed.

Obviously, a daring operation was planned here, in a scenario similar to Czechoslovakia-68 (In fact, the baptism of the Margelov Airborne Forces), when even before the introduction of the ground forces of the Warsaw Pact countries, the political power of the country was “turned off”.

After the missile strikes, which weakened the air defense, raids by an army aviation group followed (the same footage from the Ka-52). Helicopter landing captured the airfield in Gostomel and will gain a foothold there. Obviously, this airfield was planned for the transfer of the main forces of the Airborne Forces to the Il-76 with personnel and equipment.

APU succeeded block the paratroopers, heavy fighting was going on in the morning. A land group is moving to their rescue. And in the morning it became known that they managed to occupy Chernobyl (the same one) and the settlements around. Accordingly, they still have 90 km left before the “Gostomel landing”, which they have to go through with heavy battles.

The outcome of this operation will largely predetermine the fate of hostilities in general, besides, it depends on how much Ukraine, precisely as a state, will be able to resist. Therefore, Zelensky (or whoever is in charge of them at this hour) will throw all available reserves and resources of territorial defense there.

And do not forget that another ground grouping is moving towards Kyiv, but there is no information about its successes (as, indeed, failures) either in Russian or in other sources.

South direction

The first day of the operation in Ukraine, what we know today

Kherson

The most successful direction for the Russian troops at the moment. The concentration of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (as well as equipment equipment) there left much to be desired. Yesterday, according to unconfirmed reports, a tank brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was defeated there near the settlement of Antonovka. Filmed destroyed tanks (presumably T-64BV) appeared on February 24 in the afternoon.

Today it is known that the Russian military managed to gain a foothold in the Kherson region on bridgeheads, and now they are preparing to cross the Dnieper, which will open the way to Krivoy Rog. In the next hours (or a day, depending on the Ukrainian military) they will reach the city of Dnipro (which is the former Dnepropetrovsk).

Melitopol

The southern direction seems to split in two, another grouping went east and on the 24th occupied the border Genichesk, from there, apparently, it is planned to develop an attack on Melitopol, and then on Mariupol.

1/1 “>The main task of this group, according to experts, is an attempt to encircle the forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that are fighting the LDNR and the Russian Federation in eastern Ukraine. The eastern grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which has been conducting operations and stationed there for 8 years since 2014, is the most complete, experienced and combat-ready formation of the Ukrainian army among all.

If success in the north leads to political collapse, the collapse in the east is military. After that, Ukraine will only be confronted in a semi-partisan format. Well, or expect that NATO will lose its nerve and someone will decide to unleash the Third World War. Well, now nothing can surprise.

The main thing is that military operations in this direction can lead to the fact that the Sea of u200bu200bAzov becomes Russia's “inland sea”, and reaching a meeting with troops from the east will lead to the complete loss of Ukraine's entire Southeast. At the same time, it is surprising that for a whole day in a row the Russian fleet did not really declare itself (at least loudly).

Before the conflict, only the lazy did not talk about Ukrainian landings to Odessa and Nikolaev. But so far, with the exception of the destruction of the frontier post on Zmiyiny Island, there is no other information about actions in the South-West of Ukraine.

East direction

Here, as expected, the most intense and bloody battles. The defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine against the LDNR has three echelons, and, as we mentioned a little higher, these are the most skillful, qualified and combat-ready units. So ironing with “Grads” and walking around like in a parade in Russia will not work here. On the line of contact, we managed to advance in places by 6-8 km, now positional battles are going on there.

Shelling in the Kharkov region

Groups whose tasks are to encircle and encircle Ukrainian forces in the east are more dynamic.

• From the Belgorod region, the group entered the city of Sumy. The data here differ, there is information that the city is completely under the control of the Russian troops. More skeptical sources report fighting in the suburbs of the city. There is no talk of controlling it yet. Probably, more specific information will come by the evening of February 25 – morning of February 26. After the success near Sumy, apparently, a turn to the south is planned to encircle the Kharkov group.

• Another grouping from Belgorod advanced to Kharkov itself and by the middle of the day reached the city's ring road. At the same time, according to the preliminary information of the information, the Ukrainians stopped it with a counterattack. Now the artillery of both sides is fighting there, locals regularly report howitzer and MLRS salvos. A war of maneuver did not work out, so everything runs the risk of slipping into a protracted positional phase.

• And another grouping that acts only in the interests of the LDNR forces, and of the Russian troops supporting them in the LDNR itself. She set out from the Voronezh region towards Starobelsk and, possibly, further to Lisichansk. Probably, the task of this group is to cover the eastern group of Ukrainians from the north, while the “Melitopol” group will cover from the south.

All information in this article is taken from sources of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, and independent experts. The very top of NATO gave Ukraine 96 hours to complete defeat, but will this be tantamount to the end of hostilities?

Obviously, despite the generally successful hostilities, they did not become a completely, completely “blitzkrieg”, the situation will become clearer only on the evening of Saturday, February 26, or on the morning of Sunday, February 27, when the Ukrainians no longer have any reserves left, and in terms of the pace of the offensive of the Russian troops it will become clearer what the preliminary plans were and how they were justified. perhaps still ahead” alt=”The most difficult days for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, perhaps, are yet to come” The first day of the operation in Ukraine, what we know today />

The most difficult days for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, perhaps , still ahead

So far, it is unpleasantly surprising that rather old RF equipment was thrown into battle, judging by the frames that walk around the expanses of the Web. Most likely, this is due to the fact that about half of the forces allocated for all combat operations, about 60 battalion tactical groups, are currently engaged in the operation. And this means that even after a successful defense, two days later, everything is just beginning for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
