Complex hybrid architecture against “heavy” cores: Intel Core i5-12400 compared with Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 processors

About this – in the issue on the PRO Hi-Tech YouTube channelPro Hi-Tech channel expert tested the Intel Core i5-12400, Ryzen 5 5600X, Ryzen 7 5700G processors in games and work programs. About the results – in the article. DiscussComplex Hybrid Architecture vs. Heavy Cores: Intel Core i5-12400 Compared to Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 Processors

The host of the PRO Hi-Tech YouTube channel tested the performance of assemblies based on Intel (i5-12400, i5-12600K, i9-12900K) and AMD (5600X, 5700G) processors in three games and four working software. At the same time, the operation of the built-in UHD 730 (i5-12400), UHD 770 OS (i5-12600K) and Vega 8 OS (5700G) was also checked.

From game projects, processors were tested in Cyberpunk 2077, Watch Dogs Legion, Rainbow Six Siege. The best average performance of the Core i5-12400 was in Rainbow Six Siege on ultra settings in QHD: it was 356 fps, while the Ryzen 5 5600X – 381 fps, the Ryzen 7 5700G – 372 fps ; the worst is in Cyberpunk 2077 in QHD with a high preset: 92 fps versus 87 fps (Ryzen 5) and 86 fps (Ryzen 7). You can see all other measurements below.

As for working programs, among them were Da Vinci, Adobe Premiere 2022, Blender, Compass 3D. In general, the results were mixed. So, in Da Vinci, the i5-12400 processor showed the worst results compared to the rest (7 minutes 46 seconds), in Adobe Premiere 2022 – the same (5 minutes 9 seconds), but in Blender it outperformed the 5700G (4 minutes 56 seconds versus 6 minutes 5 seconds), in Compass 3D – both Ryzen processors (1998 points versus 1890 points for Ryzen 5 and 1729 points for Ryzen 7). All results are below.

Then the expert moved on to testing the integration in Rainbow Six Siege, Warzone, and World of Tanks. In Rainbow Six Siege, the best result at low settings in Full HD was shown by 5700G: 100 fps on average versus 63 fps for the i5-12600K and 38 fps for the i5-12400. The same applies to other projects.
