A SuperSaf channel expert tested the cameras of Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and iPhone 13 Pro Max smartphones in terms of photo and video quality.
First of all, the presenter compared < strong>photos. With Main Camera Modulein good light, the shots are almost identical, only the S22 Ultra sometimes comes out a little brighter. Also in some cases, Samsung makes the shadows more expressive. In low light, the photos are also quite close, although they are generally sharper on the iPhone.
Next, the specialist checked the operation of ultra-wide-angle cameras. The viewing angle of the iPhone 13 Pro Max is slightly wider than that of the S22 Ultra. At the same time, under more difficult conditions, according to the presenter, the Samsung camera does a better job, although in general the pictures are close in quality.
The macro module was also tested. iPhone in this case makes it possible to photograph objects closer than Samsung.
As for the zoom, the S22 Ultra allows you to zoom in 3, 10, 15, 30 and 100 times. The iPhone, on the other hand, only uses 3x and 15x zoom. That is, Samsung still wins in this parameter.
After that, SuperSaf switched to portrait photos. The pictures come out almost identical, both from the main module and when approaching. At the same time, glare from the sun may appear in the photo from Samsung, while the iPhone gives a “cleaner” image and at the same time sharper. Finally, selfie photos. When choosing one of the two shots in good light, the expert leans more towards the iPhone, besides, the latter has a larger field of view. Under more difficult conditions (in a car), Samsung handles highlights better: it was able to preserve more details in the background. In the evening and at night, in poor lighting conditions, the S22 Ultra gives a clearer image, and if we compare photos with a flash, then Samsung's picture is brighter, but blurry.
Next, the video expert rated it. In general, according to the expert, the iPhone 13 Pro Max wins on this point. It has better stabilization, faster autofocus in low light, more dynamic range, wider field of view when shooting from the front camera. At the same time, it should be noted that the S22 Ultra can shoot in 8K, but the iPhone does not. In terms of sound, Samsung did a better job of suppressing background noise when recording video.
In general, according to the expert, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and iPhone 13 Pro Max are one of the best camera phones. In many ways, they are identical in terms of photos and videos. The S22 Ultra has some advantages in terms of pictures, but the iPhone has some advantages in terms of video.
