The biologist explains Gray hair, wrinkles are external signs of aging of the human body. But what processes that cause such changes occur in cells? More on this in the article.Discuss
With age, the human body changes. This is caused by various processes occurring in DNA and cells.
So, first of all, over time, human DNA becomes less stable. This is explained by the accumulation of mutations in it.
It becomes more and more difficult for the cells of the body to contact each other. Aging cells begin to accumulate and cause various damage. In general, cells begin to produce and maintain key proteins less and less over time.
Then, gradually, the ends of the chromosomes (called “telomeres”) begin to unravel.
Tiny cellular “batteries” mitochondria (they provide cells with energy) cease to function normally with aging, and stem cells (they contribute to the restoration of body tissues) are depleted.
Epigenetic changes also occur in the body. These are specific chemical changes that affect the activity of genes.
Finally, human sensitivity to nutrients is impaired with aging. That is, it becomes more difficult for him to obtain the necessary elements from products.
