Quite a lot Last year, Facebook renamed Meta and said it was betting on the metaverse, a virtual reality space where people can communicate with each other through their digital avatars. For its project, the company launched the Horizon Worlds VR platform. Today it became known how many people have already connected to it.Discuss
Meta spokesman said that since Horizon Worlds was launched for all Quest headset users in the US and Canada at the beginning December, its monthly user base grew 10 times to 300,000.
This number includes users of Horizon Worlds and Horizon Venues, a separate VR event attendance app that uses the same avatars and core mechanics. Until December, Horizon Worlds was in closed beta testing.
Recently, the platform has implemented a “private boundaries” option to protect users from “harassment”. This was done after several women complained that their digital avatars were being molested in Horizon Worlds.
