Nearly a decade ago, local farmer Murray Good approached mechanical engineering professor Mehrdad R. Kermani with a problem. Can Kermani and his team develop an autonomous mushroom picking robot.
Kermani has developed a robot that can harvest mushrooms at a speed and quality comparable to or even better than a human. He also took an innovative approach by developing a system that seamlessly integrates into the existing infrastructure of mushroom farms across North America.
