What is the difference and where are the Russian processors “Multicor” used

The user explains OverclockersIn addition to, for example, Elbrus, Baikal, there are domestic-made processors called Multikor. About them – in the material.DiscussWhat differ and where Russian Multicore processors are used

Multicore processors have been produced by the Russian company Elvis since 2004. By 2020, their process technology began to be 16 nm, clock speed – 1.8 GHz, number of processor cores – 8, DSP cores – 16.

In general, it should be noted that there are two types of cores: RISC and DSP. Thanks to this, two classes of devices are combined in the development: microcontrollers based on RISC cores and digital signal processors (DSPs). All this allows the processor to better control and digital signal processing.

Similar processors are used in a variety of areas. Among them are artificial intelligence, space, communications, etc. Moreover, there are more than 30 processor models themselves.

For example, there are special radiation-resistant processors that are used specifically in the space industry. Their radiation resistance is at least 300 krad.

And on processors like 1892BA018 “Skif”, or Scythian, tablets will be released by the end of 2022. Later, it is planned to produce smartphones based on these processors. The devices will run on the Aurora operating system. Elvis notes that the performance of such tablet computers will be approximately at the level of Lenovo Tab M10 Plus TB-X606F, Samsung Galaxy Tab A10.1 SM-T515.
