YouTube channel host Miyconst tested i7-5820k (with Machinist X99-K9 motherboard) and i3-10100 (with Maxsun B560M Challenger motherboard) configurations in ten projects. Games include Far Cry New Dawn, Far Cry 6, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, F1 2021, Shadow of the Tomb Raider , Horizon Zero Dawn, Immortals Fenyx Rising. Run all games in 1080p at max and high/medium settings.
Below you can see all performance measurements. In some games, the performance was almost identical with a high perset: these are Far Cry 6, Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Interestingly, in Watch Dogs Legion, at high graphics settings, the i7-5820k leads in average performance (78 fps vs. 72 fps), and at ultra settings, the i3-10100 (56 fps vs. ).

In general, the results show that the performance with both processors is almost the same. If there is a difference, then it is insignificant. The obvious leader here is the Core i3-10100 due to higher frame rates and a modern platform. At the same time, the i3-10100 consumes only 350 watts (i7-5820k – 410 watts).
PC configuration options:
- processor Intel Core i7-5820k/Core i3-10100;
- motherboard Machinist X99-K9/Maxsun B560M Challenger;
- graphics card AMD RX Vega 64;
- RAM 2x8GB DDR4-2400 ECC REG CL14/2x8GB DDR4-3200 CL14.
