Then the head of the State Duma committee on the financial market, Anatoly Aksakov, proposed organizing mining farms in regions with an excess of electricity. The Central Bank also noted that the mining of cryptocurrencies spoils the environment. According to the agency, in 2021, due to the mining of bitcoin and Ethereum, 78 million tons of carbon dioxide were emitted into the atmosphere.
